I just released my first book: The Comfort Killers, Your Journey to Success — How To Change Your Life Using Tools You Already Have ; it is now AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER.

I discovered something while marketing my book that can help you break free out of obscurity and stop feeling shame around asking other people for money. Yes, the selling part. Most writers are creative and they suck at marketing and selling their book. That’s why its usually second nature not to ask for the sale — they rather jab, jab, jab, jab, jab me to death. Sometimes I find myself falling victim to the creative sides as well. Oh let me just hire a sales guy or a sales team to do the dirty work for me. Then something happened to me almost instantaneously. I love to ask.

Here’s how I look at life — I have a duty and obligation to get this material in front of the masses. I am not here to smirk or to play games. I am on a mission and anyone in my reality instantly becomes a prospect in my mission. Sure people can say ‘NO’ but they will get asked, they will get the presentation. They will learn more about me. They will learn my story. They are going to get the content.

I used to be scared of selling. I am sure many people are. When you think of sales, you think of 3 things. 1) you think of the guy with a old ass briefcase that knocked on your door over and over again finally getting your mother to buy the Kirby vacuum she didn’t need or want. 2) You are thinking about the fast talking, slimy slick-haired Italiano used car salesman that sold you that lemon back in 1996 or you are thinking about the seminar you attended and had to sneak out the back door of because it was heavy selling going on in the back of the room and all your cards were negative. Here’s what you aren’t thinking about though. You aren’t thinking about the food that the person has to put on their families table or about the benefit of the product and how easier it makes a persons livability. You don’t think about that cereal you are eating. Never once stopped to think about the shirt you bought… you know why? Because, there was no one actually there selling it to you. You were able to freely choose and freely either say yes or no.

Why don’t you think you can do that now? We are scared. I remember a real slick negotiator — he wasn’t anyone famous, or had a book out — he’s not even online. This cat straight negotiated his way to a lower rent, using my dumb ass as leverage.. I watched it. On my way home, I got sick to my stomach. Bro, he closed me. He leveraged me ..and there was nothing I could do or say about it. 1 for him. 0 for me. I learned.

Writing a book is easy peasy breezy. Selling this shit takes guts. In the age where people will drop $150 on sneakers and weed and won’t blink twice at a book — you realize you have to switch up your strategy. You have to get used to hearing NO! You have to get used to not being afraid to share your worth.

The difference between a salesman on the phone and one on the stage is nothing. The difference between me selling my book and me asking for you to share a Facebook Live is nothing. It’s all in the ask. We don’t even ask anymore. We are that scared of rejection. Something is wrong with this picture.

Here’s a new photo and frame to hang up on your creative wall.

Make them sick. My goal is to make them sick. Yes. Make them ill. I want people to be like I am so tired of Stacy A. Cross and her book that I am just going to buy it ..just so I can find the typos in it and leave a bad review. I want people to get sick of hearing me and seeing me. When they have gotten sick enough, they either buy the book, unfriend me , unsubscribe or ignore me. Either way, I am here for your attention. I am not here to play.

I am on a mission. I have a duty and obligation to get this information out to you. Everyone. As much as I can. This is not a joke. This is life!
