Tonight I was inspired to go to Barnes N Nobles instead of cracking at a few sales templates, I had on my to do list. I haven’t been at a bookstore in a while. I usually click a few buttons and whalah my Amazon Prime order is instantly fulfilled from the comfort of my home. Today, I was inspired to go to the store instead. I initially had no intention to buy anything in particular. I was just walking in to imagine my book and banner on the walls and center table. I have a deep affection for books. I think they are spiritual. I believe all books carry with it the energy of the author that created it and within that energy you are either attracted to it or not. There’s a consciousness about it’s beauty, wisdom and information. There’s a power around its pages and the reader either acknowledges it or not.

If you’ve gotta a travel bug and want to see the world beyond your state, country or hemisphere then you somehow found yourself looking into the pages of books that match your adventurous spirit. You flip through and see a small town in France or Belgium that takes your breath away. You say to yourself, “Yes! This year!”

Then you have the young first year medical student that needs information to help them succeed in class and outside of it. They pick up books on time management for college students, they flip through books on specific disciplines..they are sold on the possibilities.

Books on language, communication, real estate, accounting, fitness, clean eating, sports, podcasting, politics, cleaning, business, history, mystery, sex and everything in, between and out of this world ….you name it, someone wrote it. We aren’t really that different. Some people are searching and others want to get lost.

Tonight, I didn’t know that I would be one of the ones searching. Mastering my craft.. the funny thing I noticed tonight was that I always end up in two areas of the store.

  1. Business
  2. Personal Development

I love learning. I love not knowing. I love gaining insight and understanding. I always have. But it’s not just about reading. It’s about only 20% reading. I don’t even finish all books anymore. I don’t need to. I just devour and then create an action plan.

In 2008, I was introduced to Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. A cult classic. I didn’t get it though but it planted seeds inside me that are evident today. I honestly never even finished the book. But it put me on a quest to learn as much about myself as I can, change what I don’t like and strengthen what I loved. I’ve been on a personal development journey since picking up that book. There’s but only so much you can read and fain before you decide to jump off and get shit done.

Books are great to eat. Barnes N Nobles was especially grounding for me tonight. So I am happy I went. Happy yo have explored. Happy to have gotten lost amongst the champions of life.

I know my book is going to shift the consciousness of the planet.
