Fairy tales are for suckers. We’re fed stories about some magical being popping out of a bottle to grant wishes, like we’re helpless without it. Rub the lamp, get what you want, right? Except those stories always come with a catch: “Be careful what you wish for.” What a load of crap. That’s not how we operate.
I looked at that whole genie myth and thought, why the hell is it always stuck in a bottle, waiting for someone to rub it? Years, centuries, just sitting there. And why does it grant wishes? Does it owe us something?
Then it hit me. The word 'genie' isn't some hocus pocus. It's tied to 'genes' – the basic blueprint for who you are. And 'genius' isn't just for brainiacs. It’s the spirit that lies dormant, waiting for *you* to unleash it. It’s not about luck. It’s about owning what’s already yours.
They taught you to look outside
We’ve been spoon-fed this idea since we were kids: wish for stuff, look outside yourself, and maybe you'll get lucky. That’s why so many people walk around feeling powerless, waiting for some external force to save them or hand them what they want. They tell you to be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it. No, they tell you that to keep you small, to keep you from demanding more.
You hear people say, “He’s a genius. Born with a gift.” Like the rest of us are just walking around, stupid and unremarkable. That’s a lie designed to make you complacent. These so-called 'lucky' people aren't special because some god dropped a talent bomb on them. They’ve tapped into something others ignore. They’ve recognized their own raw power, their potential, their creativity, their authenticity.
I know plenty of so-called 'not-so-smart geniuses.' Guys and gals who didn't even finish high school, but they built empires, helped communities, raised incredible families. They didn't need a diploma to activate their genius. They didn’t wait for permission or an outside source.
The Latin word for 'spirit' is 'GENIUS.' It comes from the verb 'gignere,' meaning 'to beget.' To create. So, when people call someone a genius, they’re talking about a powerful spirit, a creator. After the 16th century, that meaning twisted. Now, 'genius' means some egghead. But your true stroke of genius? It’s waiting for you to unleash it, comfort killers.
Your true Genie is your Genius. And your Genes are what make you uniquely you. Your Genius isn't some external force; it’s deep inside. You can tap into it when you're fully alive, fully focused, fully engaged. When you're creating, loving, focusing, being real.
Get Real: Get Genuine
How genuine are you? Think about that word: 'genuine.' It’s directly linked to 'Genius,' to 'gignere' – to beget, to create. You see the connection? When you’re genuine, you’re real. Authentic. Original. You're operating from a place of spirit, a place of pure Genius. It’s in your damn genetics, man!
So why are we constantly looking outside ourselves for power, for wish-grantors, for handouts? We've got everything we need inside to be magnetic, prosperous, powerful. Why do you think they filled our heads with fables? To distract us from the real power we possess. Every single one of us.
Forget the scientific goggles, forget the spiritual mumbo jumbo. It all boils down to the same damn thing: being genial. Being authentically, powerfully YOU. The uniqueness of your genes, the raw potential of your genius, operating genuinely because you are a total Genie. And yeah, 'genial'? Guess what. Latin 'genialis' – stemmed from 'Genius.' It all points back to the same damn truth.
Back to Genesis: Your Origin
Why does everything circle back to 'Genius'? Because we always have to go back to the Genesis. The origin of YOU. Who you are, the powerful creator you are, the most important damn thing on this planet. YOU. Where did that power go? Why are we so weak now? Why do we conform, let conventional wisdom rot our true selves from the inside out?
Stop letting them tell you to be careful what you wish for. Demand what you want. Be who you are. You are the damn genie. You’re the bottle. Go ahead and grant your own desires. Tap into that raw creativity, that pure power. It’s not magic when it’s real.
Kill the comfort today
- Stop waiting for permission: No one is coming to save you or grant your wishes. Your power comes from within. Start acting like it.
- Identify your true desires: What do you genuinely want, stripped of all the 'shoulds' and external expectations? Get clear on it. Write it down.
- Take one uncomfortable step: Pick one thing you've been putting off, one fear you've been avoiding, and tackle it head-on. That's how you unleash your genie.
