You can tell if someone is a Pioneer because they have a back full of arrows.
Kanye West came out of silence and decided to begin writing a book on twitter which was all about individual self expression and love. Not being held down by tradition, conventional wisdom and what others expect of you.
People constantly identify and label themselves with something to better explain it. People in the business world are hustlers. People are NOT just business owners anymore, we are entrepreneurs, artists, creatives, blah blah blah.
It all boils down to the true you — which is LOVE. Kanye is perennially seeding this information as a new found LOVE merchant. And people are fueled at this and his love and respect of President Donald Trump. #MAGA (That last hashtag is going to BURN some people up)
Then you are brought back to self-identify as black. I am black. I shouldn’t be talking about Trump in a respectable way .. I should and it is expected of me to follow the pack and spew hate, build a case, build arguments and get mad! ROOOAR. One thing you should know about me: I don’t speak politics with people that don’t know politics. They only know social media or media.
My uncle asked me a few weeks ago during a visit to Jersey…”Hey! What do you think of Trump?” — I was shocked. But then I thought. He doesn’t really care what I think of Trump. He wants to tell me what HE thinks of Trump. I simply stated: “Everything is needed. All of it. The good, the bad and the ugly — it’s helping to shift the consciousness of the globe” He looked at me like ….How the hell are you related to ‘us’. I’m a Comfort Killer — I’m related to GOD!

So then, I get excitedly happy again because I am noticing the shift on a larger scale. Guys like Kanye, Jim Carrey, Hogg, Me, You,- it all matters. I had a LOVE / HATE relationships with lots of people in the year 2009. I was a media jerk. I did and felt what other people wanted me to do and feel. So for awhile as a hip-hop head I said things like Ahh Kanye sucks, this album sucks, this message sucks, Kobe and the Lakers suck, I don’t support it… but then one day I asked myself. Why?
Kobe was a beast. Focused. Spent hours on the courts before the game. Practicing. Suicides. In the gym getting better. He was a champion. My team was the Knicks — that was my only reasoning of why I couldn’t stand the guy. Nothing else was valid or true. Kobe Bryant was a Comfort Killer too.
In the black community there are 1000 things I am supposed to think, feel, do and BE ..already. In conversations, I am automatically supposed to say “Amen” and “Praise God”, automatically supposed to like ONLY hip-hop/rap, automatically supposed to HATE Trump. That is not the case with me: I am a Comfort Killer.
Once Upon A Time, I was a conspiracy theorist — I believe deep down we all are. In some way … it never left me. But I had to leave that alone. I was wasting my time digging up, pulling records, researching, reading, watching, and being paranoid at everything until I realized, BITCH !— I could have done something valuable with my life during that time. Could have started a business, learned a new skill or language — SOMETHING. Instead, I am over here looking up who shot JFK and Lincoln assassination.
You can tell who is a Comfort Killer or not immediately. Anyone that is looking towards the FUTURE with OPTIMISM — is a Comfort Killer. Anyone that has sidestepped outside of being a media groupie, is a Comfort Killer. Anyone that is doing things that are out of character, unlikely but freaking MAGICAL and insanely AWESOME, is a Comfort Killer. The chick that just spent $500.00 on a road bike and said to her friend: I’ve just invested and deposited $500.00 in my health account IS a Comfort Killer!
I bought a giant.

We are afraid.
I was in my coaching group last night and I was shocked as hell to hear, well I wasn’t that shocked, it’s understandable. I was shocked to hear how afraid people are. We are afraid because of two things. Well, really one but call it two.
- We are not in control
- We are not in control of the outcome — it is unknown
That’s it.
I remember being so afraid in a small propeller jet flying from PHL to ALB in 2015 that I swore on everything that night 15000ft in the air that I would not fly in anything this small ever again. It was a stupid promise. So I unpromised when I landed. A few months later I took flying lessons. I was not in control …. Even if you are in control of your DEATH … you will not fear it. Ever wonder why and how people can actually go through with death. They know.
We think about death way too often as humans. I believe the last stat I read on this we think about it at minimum twice a day. How about we start thinking about LIFE — how will our world change.

Disconnected from ourselves. Comfort Killers are a different breed — we are discovering more about ourselves and continue to do so constantly. Everyday we peel away more and more of the old hardened, unusable, concrete, antiquated mentality and force feed brand new ones filled with light, love and energy.
