Picture this – you are sitting in an hour long meeting. Things are getting dull and your mind starts to wander.

“What will I eat tonight?”

“Should I call my brother later?”

Suddenly – out of the blue seemingly – the Boss calls on you and asks for your input. Everyone is staring as you have nothing to contribute. Your moment to shine has passed.

We have all been there and it is terrifying. It can keep one up at night.

A helpful tip I learned during my career is to take the time to be prepared for each meeting. The strategy? Come prepared with three sustains and three eliminates for any project.

It takes all of about 5 minutes before the meeting of critical thinking. How can a project be improved?

Take the time to write them down in your notes before the meeting. This is critical – during that moment of panic the ability to read from your “cheat sheet” is a blessing.

The battle plan is a great way to win!
